The Course

"The way we stand and move is often influenced by deep-seated unconscious patterns originating from survival responses to past events and environments." - Leila Stuart, 2024

Dive deep into the world where the mind-body connection comes to life with our transformative program that bridges the gap between psychotherapy and yoga therapy. This unique course will guide you through the profound ways in which principles from Hakomi (somatic, mindfulness-based psychotherapy) can complement the physical practice of yoga, enhancing holistic healing. You'll unpack the science behind how beliefs and emotions can manifest physically, and you'll learn hands-on how to integrate therapeutic techniques into yoga practice to support emotional well-being.

Perfect for yoga instructors, therapists, or anyone keen to explore the therapeutic potential of yoga, you'll come away with a toolbox of strategies to help individuals cultivate mental, emotional, and physical health. Through practical applications and real-world scenarios, you'll see just how powerful this combined approach can be. After this course, you'll not only have deepened your understanding of the interplay between mental health and physical practice, but you'll also be equipped to offer a truly holistic experience in your yoga sessions, creating a safe space for healing and growth.

Your instructor

Rachel Krentzman stands at the confluence of psychotherapy and yoga therapy, with a wealth of experience that spans decades. Her journey began as a dedicated physical therapist, where she first discovered the transformative power of integrating holistic practices with traditional healing modalities. Rachel's pursuit of a deeper understanding led her to become a certified Yoga Therapist and an E-RYT 500 Yoga Instructor. Her extensive background in anatomy, neurobiology, and the psychosomatic connection equips her with a unique lens through which she views healing and well-being.

Passionate about the symbiotic relationship between mind and body, Rachel has dedicated much of her career to exploring and teaching the ways in which beliefs and emotional health can manifest physically. The course "From Beliefs to Bodies: Integrating Psychotherapy into Yoga Therapy" is a culmination of her in-depth research and hands-on experience. It reflects her commitment to fostering a holistic approach to therapy that bridges the gap between the mental and the physical. Rachel’s expertise enables her to guide students with empathy and science-backed methods, empowering them to unlock the full potential of yoga therapy in the context of mental and emotional well-being.
